Backend Engineer, Payments

What you'll do

• Design and run payment services integrating M-Pesa Daraja (STK Push, C2B) and card acquirers.
• Reconcile transactions, generate eTIMS-compliant invoices and handle refunds.
• Keep payment systems secure, observable and PCI DSS-aligned.

What you'll bring

• 3+ years backend experience (Node.js, Go or Python) with relational databases.
• Hands-on experience integrating M-Pesa or another payments API.
• Strong grasp of idempotency, retries and financial reconciliation.

Nice to have

• KRA eTIMS integration experience.
• Event-driven architectures.
